Teo Yann
Teo Yann graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree from the National University of Singapore in 1985. Upon graduation, he worked with Japanese ACMV contractor, Shinryo Corporation on the Singapore MRT Phase I consisting the first 20 MRT stations. Subsequently, he joined Singapore M&E contractor, Indeco Engineers on the Singapore MRT Phase II consisting the next 20 MRT stations before joining a local Main Contractor, Hock Lian Seng Engineering on the Seletar Sewerage Treatment Plant Expansion.
He joined Squire Mech in 1990 as an Executive Engineer, obtained his Professional Engineer in 1994, and was made an Associate Director in 1996 and a Director in 2005. Since he joined Squire Mech, he has worked on numerous projects of various natures. Some of the more signification projects are the Shangri-La’s Sentosa Beach Resort Hotel, redevelopment of the United World College, Orchid Country Club, Spring Grove Condominium, Fuzhou Changle International Airport in Fuzhou, China, Saigon Sheraton Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Semiconductor Testing Facility and UMC Wafer Fab Plant. Some of the above mentioned projects have won Singapore Building Construction Authority’s Construction Excellent and Energy Efficient Award.
Since 2003, Teo Yann has been appointed to lead Squire Mech’s presence in China. To date, Squire Mech has been appointed for CapitaLand’s Residential Westwoor Green in Shanghai, CapitalRetail’s Xizhimen Mall Beijing, Qibao Mall in Shanghai, Shapingban Mall in Chongqing, Shawan Mall in Chengdu, Frasers’ Northpoint Mall Beijing, Hualien’s Mall, Langham and Andaz Hotel at Xintiandi, Shanghai, Hyatt in Changchun, Shangri-La in Yiwu, and the St Regis and Sheraton in Zhuhai, just to name some. Today, Squire Mech has offices in Shanghai, Beijing and Chengdu.
He was also responsible for starting Squire Mech’s presence in Ho Chi Minh, supporting Allgreen’s Regency Condominium, Viva Condominium and Van Tau Seafront Development.
He return to Singapore in 2011 as an Executive Director to and was appointed Managing Director in 2017 with overall responsible for Squire Mech’s Singapore and overseas operation.
Teo Yann is also active in the local Engineering Community. He is current the Co-Chair of Registry for M&E Resident Engineer/Resident Technical Officer, Singapore, Working Committee for the Singapore National Specification and is serving as Vice President of Association of Consulting Engineers, Singapore since 2017. He was elected as President of Association of Consulting Engineers, Singapore on 8 September 2020.
Koh Choon Tee
Er Koh is an Executive Director and part of the management team, charting the strategic directions and business performance of the firm. Choon Tee graduated from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) in 1995. Upon graduation, he worked with Plant Engineering Construction before joining Squire Mech in 1996 as an Engineer, and obtained his Professional Engineer in 2005.
With Squire Mech, he has actively taken part in a wide variety of projects that included residential, institutional, office buildings, commercial complexes, industrial, infrastucture, hotels, resorts and several retrofitting works. Some of the more significant projects are ITE College East, NUS Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, and Pfizer Asia Pharmaceutical. Some of the projects he participated have won award for Design and Construction Excellent and also Energy Efficient Award. Choon Tee was the Lead Mechanical Engineer on the Pfizer Asia Pharmaceutical in Tuas Singapore. In this project, he coordinated site-wide utilities and designed the fire protection system. This involved full hydraulic calculations to meet NFPA and FM requirements.
Choon Tee also has extensive experiences in the design and implementation for schools. He applies energy-efficient and cost effective solutions to the design of the building services. Projects such as United World College and ITE College East have won local BCA Green Mark awards.
Since 2007, Choon Tee was assigned to assist and lead our China effort. To date, he has participated in numerous projects in China, and shared his professional experience and ideas with his subordinate engineers, demonstrating his outstanding leadership and project management skills. Among them, Shanghai Andaz/Langham Hotel, Changchun Hyatt Hotel, Zhuhai St. Regis and Sheraton Hotel, Hainan Sunny Bay Park Hyatt and Andaz Hotel, Wuxi Suning Plaza, Tianjin Keppel Land Seasons City, Zhongshan Keppel Land Sunset Yacht Club, and Wuxi Columbia Hospital are key projects he had involved.
Choon Tee has been committed in promoting green building sustainable design throughout the course of his career. He obtained his master of Science in Sustainable Building Design from University of Nottingham and Green Mark Manager in 2014 and 2008 respectively. At the same time, he completed the development of M&E Engineering Design Standards and Global Sustainable Building Design Guidelines for Hilton Hotels Management Group.
In addition, Choon Tee has also wealth of experience in overseas projects, having worked on many buildings types in Myanmar, Cambodia, Dubai, Vietnam.
Stephen Chen
Er. Chen is an Executive Director and part of the management team, charting the strategic directions and business performance of the firm. Er. Chen graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) with merit from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Er. Chen has vast experience in planning, design, installation and commissioning of building services. Er. Chen is a registered Professional Engineer of PE Board Singapore since Jun 2000. The major projects handled by Er. Chen as Project Director and Qualified Person includes CapitaSpring 51-storey 280m tall Mixed development, Toll Offshore Petroleum Services Supply Base, Halliburton Plant, Glaxo Biological Plant, Abbott Nutritional Plant, MSD Pharmaceutical Plant, Dupont Vespel Plant, Institute of Technical Education – College Central/Headquarters, Overseas Family School, Capita Green 40-storey 242m tall office, People’s Association Headquarters, Oxley Tower 32-storey 165m tall office, Bedok Point Shopping Complex, North Point Shopping Complex, Rasa Sentosa Hotel Resort, Futura Condominium, The Azure Condominium and Formula One Pit Building.
Er. Chen has also completed projects in Malaysia with Squire Mech Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Squire Mech Pte Ltd. Er. Chen is a member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia and a registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia. Er. Chen is the Managing Director of Squire Mech Sdn Bhd. He is responsible for the administration and management of Squire Mech’s business operation in Malaysia.
Loh Wei Liang
Loh Wei Liang graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic in 1989. He worked as an Assistant Engineer with Indeco Engineers Pte Ltd involving in the Pulau Seraya Power Plant project after his graduation until 1990. He went on to obtain his Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (2nd Class Upper Honours) from the Queen’s University of Belfast, Northern Ireland, U.K in 1993. Upon graduation, he joined Squire Mech in 1993 as an Engineer. He is currently a Director with the company.
Since he joined Squire Mech, he has actively taken part in a wide variety of projects such as residential, institutional, and industrial, office buildings, hotels, commercial complexes, and severak retrofitting works. Some of the more significant projects are Wyeth-Ayerst Pharmaceutical and Nutritional Plant, Grand Copthorne Water Front Hotel, King’s Centre, Peirce Villas and BMW Main Showroom and Workshop.
Wei Liang was the Lead Electrical Engineer on the Wyeth-Ayerst Pharmaceutical and Nutritional Plant. He coordinated site-wide utilities and advised the Client on the local requirements on electrical installation issues. He has since been involved in other industrial projects such as Schering-Plough, LONZA, BMW Showroom/Workshop etc. He was also the Lead Engineer for the 30-storey Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel.
Wei Liang also has wealth of experience in overseas projects, having worked on several projects in Malaysia and United Arab Emirates.
Tan Hwee Khoon
Er Tan graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) Degree from the National University of Singapore in 1985. Er Tan is a registered Professional Engineer of PE Board Singapore since 1996 and EMA Licensed Electrical Engineer with 22kV Switching.
Since joining Squire Mech, Hwee Khoon has been working on numerous projects of diverse nature. Some of the more significant projects include Woodlands Health Campus (WHC), Mandai Rainforest Safari Park, Mix Development at Bideford Road and Remodelling Work at Alexandra Hospital Campus.
He has extensive experience in the planning, design, installation, testing and commissioning of healthcare facilities and Institutional buildings. Major projects handled by Er Tan includes Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, Jurong Community Hospital, Changi General Hospital Integrated building, Changi General Hospital Medical Centre, Changi General Hospital, SARS Facilities at various hospitals, First Three Government build/private Operators Nursing Homes, Polyclinics, Clinical Research Centre (NUS), Data Storage Institute (NUS), Block 1A (NUS), National Institute of Education (NIE) Jurong Campus, EMC Centre (NTU), School of Biological Sciences (NTU), Techno Plaza (NTU), NTU Phase 3B Development, Students/Graduate Students/Staff Housing at NTU. He was involved in mega project such as the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort (MBS) project took charge of the MICE Faculties and Infrastructure.
Eng Kwee Chew
Eng Kwee Chew was awarded Bachelor of Science (Honours) by the Council of National Academic Awards (UK) through Thames Polytechnic in 1971. He has extensive experience in the planning design, installation and commissioning of low and high tension distribution networks for residential, commercial and industrial developments in Singapore from the mix sixties.
Mr Eng was in the services of the London Electricity Board for about five years during he received training and gained experience on the design, selection, installation and commissioning of both low and high tension distribution and transmission networks. Mr Eng was responsible for the specification and selection of high and low tension electrical equipment for the Public Utilities Board. He was Head of the Consumers Installation Division responsible for the vetting of single line drawings of large industrial and commercial development and the testing of all electrical installations in Singapore. Mr Eng was member of M&E Consulting Team for the PUB Building.
He has assisted in the drafting of several specifications and Code of Practises for the Singapore Insitute of Standards and Industrial Research. He has served on the Technical Committee on specifications for Low Voltage Switchgear and Controlgear Assemblies and, PVC Insulated Cables (Non-Armoured) for Electric Power and Lighting.
He is a registered Professional Engineer of the Professional Engineers Board, Singapore since 1974 and a Licensed Engineer and Registered Inspector of the Singapore Civil Defence Force since 23 November 1994. He is also a member of Insitution of Engineering and Technology, UK and is also a registered Engineering Council U.K. since 1981. He has served as a Council member of Institution Engineers, Singapore for 1982 to 1984 and has served as Technical Unit Committee and Community Services Committee during this period.
Lin Fei
Lin Fei graduated from Sichuan University with a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) in 1995. He received his EMBA degree of Shanghai Jiaotong University and Chinese Senior Electrical Engineer Certification in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
From 1997 to 2004, Lin Fei worked in several engineering design company and contractors. A wealth of experience in project management, electrical design, site construction and installation inspectors has been accumulated. During this period, he completed projects such as shopping malls, hotels, office buildings, pharmaceutical factories, concert halls, hospitals, factories, supermarkets, etc., gaining understanding of the Mechanical and Electrical requirements of various types of buildings.
Lin Fei joined Squire Mech China in 2005 as a Project Manager and participated in projects including mixed development, hotels, shopping malls, office buildings, residential and serviced apartments, etc. From these projects, Lin Fei demonstrated his excellent project management capabilities during the design phase, construction drawing phase, tender phase, construction phase, testing and handover phase. Xiamen Westbay Cruise Mixed Development, Chengdu Joy City, Xi’an Capitaland Mall, Shanghai Yuejie 3.0 Mixed Development, Hangzhou JW Marriot Hotel, Anji Club Med Resort, Shanghai Songjiang Guangfulin Hilton Hotel are the key projects he participated. In the several commercial shopping malls of Capilaland, Lin Fei demonstrated his ability of the Electrical system design, site installation inspectors, project management.
Owing to his outstanding work performance, Lin Fei was promoted to Deputy General Manager and Executive Director in 2008 and 2013 respectively. He is responsible for leading 2 teams of Squire Mech China and serving as the Project Director in the project teams, assisting the Managing Director in the business development in China region. Business, as well as the company’s operation management, sharing new technologies and information for employees, guiding project development, design guidance and internal project auditing.
Tan Boon Tiong
Ir. Tan Boon Tiong graduated from University of Malaya in 2009 with Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree (Honours).
Boon Tiong started his career with Jentrikon Perunding Sdn. Bhd. in 2009 as an Engineer and was actively involved in the design and implementation of various types of projects that included residential, institutional, office buildings, commercial complexes, hypermarkets, and several renovation projects. He has gained experience during his time with Jentrikon Perunding and obtained his Professional Engineer in 2013. He was promoted to Associate in 2013 at Jentrikon.
In Year 2015, Boon Tiong joined Jurutera Perunding Kuasa Tenaga Sdn Bhd as Mechanical Associate. His key responsibilities includes review, checking design, and signing of the Mechanical Services submission drawings as Submitting Person. One of the key project undertaken by him is Bukit Jalil KL Sports City Redevelopment, which had completed in time to host the 2017 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
Boon Tiong joined Squire Mech Sdn Bhd in 2017 as Director. With Squire Mech, he has actively taken part in various types of projects and some of the major projects are AirAsia Engineering Complex, 200 acres OIB Industrial Park Pulau Indah Masterplan Development and St. Regis Hotel KL. He is responsible for the administration and management of Squire Mech’s business operation in Malaysia.
Boon Tiong is a registered Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate (PEPC) with Board of Engineers Malaysia. He is also a registered ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer and GBI Facilitator in Malaysia.
Patrick Phong
Patrick graduated with Master of Science (Building Services Engineering) from Brunel University in 1996. He obtained his Chartered Engineer (CEng) qualifications in the United Kingdom in 2001, was admitted to the European Federation of National Engineering Associations (FEANI) as an European Engineer (EUR ING), Int PE (UK) and CPEng in 2006 and was registered as an APEC Engineer and Int PE (Aus) in Australia for both Mechanical Engineering & Building Services Engineering in 2017.
In Vietnam, he obtained Class 1 practicing licenses for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Design (2018); Class 1 Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Construction Supervision (2018) and Class 1 Project Management license in 2019 in compliance with the latest 2017 Government regulations for registration.
He is currently a Fellow, Institute of Mechanical Engineering (FIMechE); Member, Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineering (MCIBSE); Member, Engineers Australia (MIEAust) and Member, American Society of Heating, Airconditioning, Refrigeration and Airconditioning Engineers (MASHRAE).
He also sits in the Professional Review Interview Panel of IMechE and, audit member of the Singapore Chapter of IMechE since 2017.
He has also previously held the position of President, Singapore Business Association of Vietnam (SBAV) from 2011 to 2013 and is currently the Secretary of SBAV.
Patrick is appointed the General Director of Squire Mech Vietnam from Mar 2020
Prior to the appointment, he was Vice President, Engineering of the Ascott Group (2002). Patrick led the in-house technical and engineering due diligence processes for a number of mergers and acquisitions in Australia, Philippines, Thailand and the United Kingdom during the 12-year tenure in Ascott, a subsidiary of CapitaLand. He pioneered the Engineering Operations in 1998 from a single serviced apartment and shopping centre in Singapore to the eventual global operations spanning 47 cities from Auckland to Paris before being transferred to be Head, Project Management and Consultancy Services, Premas in 2005. This company was another subsidiary of CapitaLand. It provided Project Management services to several Town Councils servicing more than 250,000 residents, an integrated service to third party clients like the National Cancer Centre, Singapore as well as Qatar Telecom. In Indonesia, he also led in providing design consulting and engineering operational consulting to major Indonesian owners.
As Founder and Managing Director of BON Engineering Consultants (2008), Patrick led the development of the company through providing project management, construction supervision and M&E consultancy services in Vietnam. His Vietnam experience started since 1994.
Some of the notable projects that he has undertaken includes Alexandra Point (M&E Consulting) being the first intelligent building in Singapore; M&E design services incorporating several energy recovery applications for a 560,000m2 integrated mixed use international development in Danang that comprises 2 x 60-storey and 2 x 40-storey international 5-star hotels and serviced apartments; 5-star hotel M&E design audit and retrofitting project in Saigon as well as Grade A offices & condominiums, Saigon and an international 4-star hotel in Hanoi that recovers heat from the chiller to provide heating to the indoor swimming pool during winter season as well as the use of waste heat from the outdoor unit of a reverse heat pump installation to regenerate the desiccant that serves the swimming pool hall to ensure no condensation on its full height glass during both winter and summer seasons and; the Regency Shanghai (PMCS), which won the White Lotus Award, Shanghai’s highest award for Serviced Apartment Project Management and Construction.
As Vice President at T.Y. Lin International Pte Ltd (2014), he was responsible for leading the delivery of projects for T.Y.LIN clients in Vietnam and across the region. Concurrently, was also the Director of T.Y.LIN International Vietnam Co. Ltd and the General Director for BON Vietnam JV Co.
With over 30 years’ experience in Project Management, Construction Supervision, Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) engineering design and application across a range of industries in Asia and the Middle East., having in-depth capabilities arising from being a third party service provider for Project Management, Construction Supervision and M&E Consulting Service provider for the past 10 years of business in Singapore and Vietnam, from founding the company, BON Engineering to eventually being bought over by TY Lin International (2014), his Project Management and Construction Supervision (PMCS) services includes 90,000m2 Crowne Plaza Hanoi that comprises a 325-room 5-star Hotel, 220-room serviced apartment and a Grade A 15-storey office tower. Other PMCS projects include Melia Hanoi, Israel Embassy, MIPEC Riverside which is a 220,000m2 mixed use twin 35-storey high end condominium.
